MEET LINDA
Linda Runbeck
is an experienced small business owner and corporate executive. She served in the MN
Legislature from 1989-2000 as state representative and state senator,
respectively. Earlier, she served on the Circle Pines City
Council.
In the legislature,
Runbeck spearheaded passage of landmark workers? comp reform. She led the push for across-the-board income
tax cuts in the face of growing surpluses. The StarTribune
profiled Linda as a ?spirited champion for free enterprise?. She has been a frequent guest on ?Almanac.?
After running
for Congress in 2000, Linda was
president of the Taxpayers League of MN.
She served on the Northwest YMCA?s Advisory Board and received its
Distinguished Leader Award in 2007. She
was also development director at the Minnesota Free Market Institute.
Prior to holding
office, Runbeck was director of advertising for County Seat Stores and vice
president for hearing aid manufacturer, Dahlberg, Inc. Later, she owned a Miracle-Ear hearing aid
franchise.
A graduate of
Bethel University, Linda and her husband, Rich, live in Circle Pines. They are co-owners of Braham Monument Co. in
Braham, MN. Their daughter, Britta, is
